And Here Comes the Snow….Again

Another crazy snowstorm is about the blanket the DC metro area…it has already started to come down as I type!  We’ve done our very best here at Calvary to be very prepared. However, there are many of the most vulnerable in our communities that are still out on the streets and in need of food and shelter. Please keep an eye out and do your best to help out. If you see someone out in this bitter cold and snow, call the DC hypothermia hotline- 1-(800)-535-7252. You really can save lives!

Also, in this situation, there’s also a great need to help the disabled, elderly and those who are home-bound- as it is so difficult to travel for food and supplies. One local organization, Food & Friends is looking for volunteers with four wheel drive to help them continue to make all of their food delivery rounds. And our friends at Bread for the City checked in with a few other local organizations to see how they are handling the Snowpocalypse as well. You can read their update here.

Stay warm, dry, and safe… and enjoy the snow- round II!
