  • From From the Associated Press- “California law would add homeless hate-crime protection” The legislation approved Thursday would add the state’s estimated 157,000 homeless to the list of groups protected from hate-based violence. The bill still needs approval from the Senate and the governor’s signature before it would become law. http://bit.ly/9ws8Z6
  • The National Low Income Housing Coalition (NLIHC) has received a donation of $5 million for the purpose of advancing the Coalition’s mission to achieve socially just public policy that assures people with the lowest incomes in the United States have affordable and decent homes. http://bit.ly/aEHThD

  • In Columbia, Missouri, funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act has provided Central Missouri Community Action with the resources it needs to provide services to families experiencing economic insecurity. http://bit.ly/cqbkPM
