Calvary Captain Countdown – One more week!

That’s right… we are in the LAST week of our Countdown. Only 7 more days until November 20th!

Courtney Wright (fun fact – she’s a twin!) is jumping right in to the Walkathon this year! She’s a new Calvary staff member at our Pathways program, and when she first heard about the Walkathon, she thought it would be a fun new way to show the passion she feels about the organization she works for… because, as a Calvary insider, “I believe in their mission and support the work that they are doing.”

We asked her what being part of Calvary, both as staff and a member of our Walkathon team, means to her. For Courtney, “it means being a part of a larger community, not just those that I see when I come into work, but those that give their time and resources to help Calvary provide the much needed services that they do. It is also fulfilling knowing that I can contribute to the organization I work for outside of my assigned duties.” But Courtney’s real inspirations to join the walk are the Pathway residents themselves. Courtney describes her experiences hearing the stories of each of the women as “educational, rewarding, and reinvigorating. Hearing what they have been through, what they go through, and where they want to be, gives me the motivation to do what I can to support them with their individual journeys.”

Still haven’t signed up? The LAST DAY to register online is Thursday, Nov. 18th. Visit www.helpthehomelessdc.org and chose Calvary Women’s Services ( DC010) as the beneficiary.
