Calvary Captain Countdown – 16 days

Noelle Laing was involved with the Walkathon long before she even moved to D.C. Every year, she would donate to her sister, Calvary’s Development Director Heather Laing, for the annual Walk. Ever since she started walking four years ago, she has been pleasantly surprised to find that her friends, family and co-workers are generous in sponsoring her now that she’s walking as well.

She also loves how the Walkathon has become something of a family event over the years: “when I arrive at the Calvary meeting spot on the Mall, I see my sister(s), sister-in-law, nephew, best friend, etc.  It makes an already special event even more meaningful. ”

Even if you aren’t lucky enough to have your family joining you, there’s plenty to be excited about. “I most look forward to the energy on the Mall on the day of the Walkathon.  There is an amazing vibe, as everyone is in great spirits and is excited for the walk.  So many people put in so much effort to make it a special day and it’s always inspiring to see the results.”

Another creative way Noelle helps out at Calvary? “I’m a yoga teacher and I teach donation-based classes for Calvary. Be on the look out via Calvary’s Facebook page for my next donation class!”
