Calvary Captain Countdown – 4 days!

This will be Judy Gillespie’s first time participating in the Walkathon. After gearing up for the walk by fundraising throughout the fall, she is excited to wake up on Saturday morning and see the Walkathon finally come together on November 20th. Judy told us, “it is my first walk, and I am looking forward to feeling of fellowship with people who share my passion for helping homeless women.”

Why is Judy particularly excited to walk for Calvary? “This cause rocks! If you want to make a difference and see the difference and feel the difference for vulnerable women, this is the best way to do it!”

We may have mentioned that walkers are welcome to bring their dogs with them to the Walkathon on Saturday. Well, Judy has some experience with animals that are a little more exotic. She’s a world traveler, but she told us that her favorite destination is Mongolia “because I can see my yak and the nomadic herdswomen who are taking care of her and her seven female children. I guess that makes me a grandyakker!”

You can see Judy’s awesome fundraising progress on her Walkathon website.

Still haven’t signed up? THURSDAY is the last day to pre-register online. Visit www.helpthehomelessdc.org and chose Calvary Women’s Services ( DC010) as the beneficiary.
