Good Hope Road Community Update

Since our January update, Calvary Women’s Services staff has been meeting with new neighbors and prospective partners in the Anacostia community. Calvary’s Executive Director, Kris Thompson, recently attended the February 23rd public hearing regarding the establishment of the Anacostia Business Improvement District. This was a great opportunity to meet members of the local business community and to learn more about the Anacostia BID and its work to “enhance the economic vitality, security and appearance of its neighborhood.” We look forward to continuing to meet and connect with other members of the community in the coming weeks.

Renovation began on our new location on Good Hope Road in December 2011 and will be completed by May. Though nearly all of the changes to the building are internal, the installation of new windows has improved the exterior appearance of the building. Below are a few photographs of the renovations underway.
