Three Questions for Calvary’s Staff

On the Calvary Comments blog, you’ve read the stories of women who have used Calvary’s programs to change their lives and heard from volunteers who have shared their passion for their work with us. Today we hear from some of our staff members, the great team who comes in and gives their all – day after day. Why do they do it? And what are their thoughts about Calvary’s soon-to-be new home? We asked them some questions to find out what they think:

If you had to choose one word to describe Calvary, what would it be?

Awesome

Inspirational

Effective

Caring

Hope

Community

Respect

What are you most looking forward to about the move to Good Hope Road?

“The ability to serve more women in need and dedicated volunteer space (woo!)”

“More space to serve more women. I can’t wait to watch women unpack – to move into private rooms, to feel cared for and supported in this new place.“

“Being able to do more with the same resources.“

“Everything!”

What would you tell someone who was considering getting involved with Calvary?

“It’s an organization that utilizes all possible resources to help women in need. It’s not just shelter, it’s a community from staff to residents to volunteers.”

“Calvary is a space where people care about women and their needs – their struggles, challenges and goals.”

“It’s a wonderful organization – well run and a very supportive environment. Calvary values highly their volunteers and you’ll really feel ‘a part of’ the staff and Calvary community.”

“You’ll get back more than you give.”
