Calvary Captain Plans to Pay it Forward on #GivingTuesday

From now until #GivingTuesday on December 2, the blog will feature a dedicated Calvary Captain who is playing a special role in Calvary’s fundraising efforts for this day of online giving. Tim is a Calvary Captain who is spreading the word about #GivingTuesday this year among his family, friends and colleagues. Tim told us that he feels strongly about giving back during the holidays and paying it forward. Thank you, Tim, for being a Calvary Captain!

Check back each week for a new Calvary Captain feature, and remember to show your #Calvaryspirit by donating to Calvary on #GivingTuesday!

Why do you support Calvary?
Calvary is a remarkable organization that has a tangible effect on women’s lives in the DC community. The organization provides a safety net that helps women propel themselves toward brighter futures.

If you had to choose one word to describe Calvary, what would it be?
The Phoenix. Hardships can be difficult to recover from, but Calvary lowers the barriers to rebuilding and provides a chance for a new life.

What motivated you to become a Calvary Captain for #GivingTuesday?
I’ve been blessed in my life and I know the value of someone holding out a helping hand. This is one way to pay that forward.

How do you show your #Calvaryspirit?
I show my #Calvaryspirit by putting my time and passion toward raising funds for Calvary.

What do you love most about the holidays?
Food, family and warmth.
