Women at Calvary Experience the Hottest Exhibit in Town: #InfiniteKusama

Last week, Calvary was fortunate enough to get one of the last group tour passes for the Hirshorn’s highly-anticipated exhibit, Yayoi Kusama: Infinity Mirrors. Just a few days before the exhibit closed, a group of women braved the rainy weather to experience #InfiniteKusama as part of Calvary’s education program (LEAP).

Women responded strongly to the variety of forms – infinity rooms, sculptures, obliteration room – and to the interactive nature of the exhibit. Specifically in the obliteration room, women experienced how one small act can be compounded visually (and delightfully), which was empowering as they considered their own art. Because of the Kusama exhibit’s many different access points, women at Calvary left feeling excited about the many avenues available to express their own artistic energy.

Many thanks to the Hirshorn for welcoming women at Calvary to Yayoi Kusama: Infinity Mirrors!
