Thank You to Everyone who Supported the 2025 Hope Gala on April 25th
On Wednesday, April 23rd, Calvary Women’s Services raised more than $550,000 with more than 300 people in attendance at the 2025 Hope Gala, held at the Ritz Carlton in Washington, DC.
Thank you to everyone who contributed! Whether you donated, purchased an auction item, volunteered your time, sponsored the event, or placed a bid from home, your support has made a powerful impact on the lives of women in our community.
The 2025 Hope Gala brought together influential community leaders, business executives, local policymakers, and dedicated donors who are committed to making a difference in the lives of women overcoming homelessness.
Emmy Award Winner Terri Tolliver served as Mistress of Ceremonies for the event. The 2025 Hope Award was presented to Tonia Wellons, President and CEO of the Greater Washington Community Foundation, in recognition of her leadership and dedication to fostering stronger communities. Previous Hope Award recipient Shawn Yancy, NBC4 Washington News Anchor, was also in attendance, along with DC Attorney General Brian Schwalb, and DC Councilmember Kenyan McDuffie. CREW DC was presented with the 2025 Partner of the Year award for their unwavering support of Calvary Women’s Services.
Calvary CEO Kris Thompson shared the following on stage during the Hope Gala:
“I can’t tell you what the future holds. Like so many organizations, we’re preparing for what might happen next… Today, I stand before you with a promise – that Calvary will be here when the women of our community need us. In more than 40 years, we have never closed our doors. We will continue to provide safety. We will continue to provide opportunity. We will continue to provide hope.”
Funds raised at the event will directly support Calvary’s transitional and permanent housing programs, health, education, and employment services for women experiencing homelessness and working to transform their lives.
It’s not too late to give the gift of hope! Make a donation today.
