How You Changed Lives at Calvary Women’s Services in 2025

This year asked a great deal of our community.

Across Washington, DC, women experiencing homelessness have faced rising housing costs, persistent barriers to access, and economic uncertainty. Although homelessness was reported to have decreased in 2025, the number of women experiencing homelessness has increased. Every night, more than 1,000 women in DC are without a safe place to call home. I have met many of these women, and you have too. They are workers, survivors, mothers, and students who make great contributions to our city, even as they navigate extraordinary challenges.

Despite these realities, the women in our programs made measurable progress this year. Women who moved into stable housing have remained housed. They secured employment, accessed healthcare, maintained sobriety, and took meaningful steps toward long-term stability.

I invite you to watch our end-of-year impact video, which captures that very progress. These outcomes are possible when women experiencing homelessness are met with effective programs and a community of supporters like you who believe in their strength, dignity, and ability to succeed.

As we look ahead to 2026, we know we will still be met with rising costs, and system-wide challenges will continue to impact the women we serve. However, Calvary will still be there—steadfast in our mission and strengthened by your partnership.
