Announcing the 2025 Hope Award Recipient

Tonia in a navy blue dress with arms crossed. Calvary Women’s Services Honors Tonia Wellons as the 2025 Hope Award Recipient at the Annual Hope Gala

We are thrilled to announce that Tonia Wellons, President & CEO of the Greater Washington Community Foundation, has been named Calvary’s 2025 Hope Award Recipient. As the leader of the region’s largest public foundation—managing over $460 million in assets and distributing $70 million annually—Tonia has championed a bold 10-year strategic vision aimed at closing the racial wealth gap.

With over 20 years of experience in public-private partnerships, financial inclusion, and international development, Tonia is a proven leader in driving equitable solutions for stronger communities.

Tonia will be presented with the Hope Award at this year’s Hope Gala on April 23rd at the Ritz-Carlton. We hope you will join us in celebrating her incredible impact and supporting Calvary Women’s Services in our mission to empower women overcoming homelessness
