Calvary Women’s Services Welcomes New Board Officers and Members to Champion Mission to End Women’s Homelessness

Washington, DC – Calvary Women’s Services, a nonprofit dedicated to ending homelessness for women in the nation’s capital, has announced the election of new officers and members to its Board of Directors,
Founded in 1983, Calvary operates six housing programs across Wards 7 and 8, providing comprehensive support for women overcoming homelessness, domestic violence, trauma, and substance abuse.
Calvary’s Chief Executive Officer, Kris Thompson, expressed gratitude for the board members’ service and dedication. “Our Board’s leadership plays a vital role in ensuring that women in DC have access to the housing, health, and employment opportunities they need to build stable, independent lives,” said Thompson. “We are thrilled to welcome these new officers and members as we continue expanding Calvary’s impact across the city.”
New Board Officers
Tina Stow, President
Executive Vice President of Public Affairs, AHIP
“It’s a privilege to serve as Board President for an organization that – for more than 40 years – has met and supported women in the District where they are, empowering them to build strong, independent lives,” said Stow. “Calvary’s distinctive model is uniquely effective and underscores that when women have safe housing, access to opportunity, and a supportive community, they can achieve anything.”
Stow leads public affairs for AHIP, the national trade association representing health plans, focused on advancing strategies to help make high-quality, coverage affordable and accessible for everyone. This commitment to equitable access to health care echoes her passion for supporting women and empowering them to live healthy, independent, stable lives.

Emily Stipe
Director of Federal and Political Affairs, Vistra Corp
Stipe leads federal policy and advocacy strategy for Vistra Corp, a Fortune 500 energy company, focusing on grid reliability and energy access for low-income communities. A seasoned government relations professional, she has worked with congressional offices and agencies to advance key policy priorities. Previously, she served at Bracewell LLP, contributing to initiatives such as the creation of the 988 National Suicide Prevention Lifeline and the Congressional Mamas’ Caucus.
Nigel Crayton
Senior Director, Greysteel
A native Washingtonian, Crayton leads a high-performing team focused on the capitalization of multifamily communities across the Mid-Atlantic. With deep expertise in commercial real estate and capital markets, he is committed to strengthening housing throughout the region, expanding access to safe, stable homes and promoting inclusive economic opportunities.

An Emmy and Edward R. Murrow Award-winning journalist, Tolliver brings more than two decades of experience in storytelling, public affairs, and community engagement. She previously served as Director of News Projects and Community Partnerships at FOX 5 DC, where she led efforts to spotlight change-makers and community voices. A proud Washingtonian, Tolliver is passionate about amplifying overlooked stories and advancing Calvary’s mission of empowerment and opportunity for women.
