Calvary Women’s Services’ 2023 Hope Gala Raises Over $550K

Funds will directly support women experiencing homelessness in Washington, DC

Washington, DC (May 9, 2023) – Calvary Women’s Services, a nonprofit serving women experiencing homelessness in Washington, DC, raised over $550,000 at the Hope Gala on April 26th. The funds will enable more than 250 women to transform their lives through Calvary’s housing, health, education, and employment programs each year.

“Our mission calls us to offer hope and assist women in ending their homelessness,” said Kris Thompson, CEO of Calvary Women’s Services. “These funds will allow us to continue offering housing with the services that women need to heal, build new skills, and achieve the goals they set for themselves.”

The sold-out event brought together 400 community and business leaders for silent and live auctions, dinner, and a program. Guests heard inspirational remarks from Fatima Bah, Candace McLaren Lanham, At-Large DC Councilmember Kenyan McDuffie, Traci Mitchell, Caitlin Sickles, and Sherron Washington.
